Ancient Vāstu was born from an intelligent understanding of space, direction, elements, structure and their relationship with human life. Its wisdom remains relevant today; what has changed are the dynamics of modern spaces and the way these principles are applied. The wisdom is ancient. Its application must be dynamic. For me, Vāstu is not about rigid rules, fear or blindly recreating ancient arrangements. It is about understanding the space that exists — its directions, elements, structure, movement and balance — and how these interact with the people living within it. Modern homes come with different architectural realities: apartments, high-rises, compact layouts and rented spaces. Vāstu does not need to be forced into these spaces. Its principles need to be understood deeply enough to work within their reality. THE VĀSTU TEAM I work alongside my mother, who is also psychic. We are both psychic, but our abilities are different. This allows us to perceive and work with a space in distinct yet complementary ways. Vāstu gives us the framework to understand space, while our psychic abilities allow us to perceive aspects that may not be immediately visible. This broader perspective can be valuable across different kinds of properties and situations. In some cases, it may also help us explore unexplained or persistent experiences within a property. But discernment is essential. Not every unusual experience is a Vāstu doṣa, and not every disturbance is paranormal. We do not begin with a conclusion; we first seek to understand what is actually present. OUR APPROACH We work with the space as it exists today, bringing together the intelligence of Vāstu and our distinct perceptions. Sometimes a space needs physical correction; sometimes greater balance or movement; and sometimes the most appropriate approach is recognising what does not need to be changed. For us, Vāstu is about understanding space rather than imposing a formula upon it — allowing its principles to remain ancient while their application remains alive, intelligent and responsive to the space before us.
